Bradley Street Pottery
Carved into the bank of a tiered, mature garden, this pottery studio offers a tranquil space for making and retreat. Designed for a potter recently returned to the UK from France, the studio sits at the edge of the conservation area in the market town of Wotton-under-Edge.
Set on a newly formed mid-terrace, the building forges a gentle connection between the previously disconnected upper and lower gardens. Modest in scale and quiet in character, the studio is carefully oriented to shape considered views both into and out of the space.
Clad in blackened timber using the traditional shou sugi ban technique, the exterior strikes a soft contrast against the surrounding greenery. Oak-framed windows look out over planting beds, while warm interior finishes and modest detailing create a calm, grounded environment for focused work.
