Bakehouse Completion

The first phase of works at North Hill Farm is now complete and beginning to feel lived in. Once the farm’s bakehouse, supplying the local community with freshly baked goods, the building has been converted into a compact annexe for multigenerational family living.

The project was an opportunity to test materials and details for future phases across the farmstead. Interventions were kept deliberately minimal, retaining the character of the original stone structure while adapting it into a small but carefully considered living space.

Frameless windows with bespoke oak reveals frame views into the evening garden, while a new mezzanine is suspended from the original truss. The polished concrete floor was coloured and seeded with aggregate to reflect the tones of the wider farmstead, and built-in joinery makes use of every corner, from the wardrobe forming the bathroom wall to the paddle stair rising to the mezzanine.house Completion
