Nottingham Road
Nestled on a leafy, terraced residential street in Bishopston is this generous Victorian villa. Built high on one of Bristol’s many hillsides, the land falls away to the rear of the property, emphasising the building’s prominent position above the neighbouring streets.
The brief challenged us to improve the fabric performance through a series of delicate interventions throughout the property. A set of bespoke built-in joinery pieces is showcased along the stairwell, subtly connecting the spaces. The works are capped off by a transformed loft space, creating a main bedroom with a dressing room and en-suite.
The loft is centred around a bespoke oak-framed picture window that casually frames views across the Bristol skyline. An openable solid oak side panel with louvre detail ventilates the space.
