Redland Grove
At the heart of the Redland & Cotham Conservation Area lies Redland Grove, a generous tree-lined avenue once part of Redland Court. Fronting the street is this grand semi-detached Victorian villa, where various poorly considered adaptations had gradually eroded the property’s stature.
Through a series of subtle interventions, we stripped away layers of non-breathable masonry paint and restored the original stonework. To the rear, we reconfigured the layout and installed a bespoke ash kitchen and a vibrant banquette dining bench.
The existing extension structure was retained but draped with Western Red Cedar clad skin. The façade was extended to form a tall parapet, allowing it to sit more comfortably against the backdrop of the original house. A series of external terraces were created to extend the interior spaces and better connect the house and garden.
